      Created in , from portions of Yuba County, Nevada County was named after the mining town of Nevada City, a name derived from the term "Sierra Nevada."The word nevada is Spanish for "snowy" or "snow-covered.". Nevada City was the first to use the word "Nevada" in its name. In the newly formed Nevada County used the same name as the county y: United States.   In January , an unsigned author in Scofield Thayer and James Sibley Watson’s modernist monthly The Dial (–) wrote a ‘Briefer Mention’ review for Keith Henderson’s study, Prehistoric Man.. ‘Like so many books of its kind’, The Dial announced, ‘it is marred by a certain facetiousness.’ The review finds fault with the book’s playful chapter : Cathryn Setz. Thus a law of social science, or a Social Law, is a statement of social tendencies; that is, a statement that a certain course of action may be expected under certain conditions from the members of a social group.
